The Crewe Foundation Supports

Who

  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable institutions.

Where

  • Located in or serving beneficiaries in Maine.

What

  • Projects and programs focused on the fine arts, music, youth, and LGBTQ+ communities.
  • With rare exceptions, the Foundation does not fund physical infrastructure, administration, or other general operating expenses.

When

  • Applications to The Crewe Foundation for funding to take place in 2025 will open on October 1, 2024. Submissions will be accepted through October 31, 2024. Award notifications will be given in November 2024. The application for 2026 funding will open on September 1, 2025.

Application Criteria

All applicants must meet the core eligibility criteria outlined above. Project and program proposals will be assessed by these criteria. In addition, the Board will consider the following criteria in evaluating applications:

  • Whether the proposed project or program has an evaluation plan with outcomes that are quantifiable;
  • The organization’s potential for effecting change through a history of achievement and effective management;
  • The strength of the organization’s financial foundation and utilization of diverse funding sources;
  • The organization’s capacity to empower aspiring artists and underserved youth to become productive artists, musicians, songwriters, and/or composers.

The Board of Directors may consider grant requests outside of these eligibility requirements and criteria at its discretion. Please contact info@thecrewefoundation.org with questions.
